Introducing Android Time Tracker for Paymo
Update: Our official Android Time Tracker is now available on the android market. All beta version users are advised to uninstall the app and then re-install it from the market in order to receive update notifications.
The Paymo Android app allows you to easily track your time while on the go. It can be used during client meetings or while you’re mobile. Whether your team members have iPhones or Android phones, everyone will be able to track time while on the go.
Paymo Android Time Tracking features:
- time entries are kept with start and end times
- add your time using a stopwatch or manually enter time
- edit and review your existing time sheets
- works offline and syncs to your online account when a connection becomes available
We’d like to apologize to all our Android users for the repeated delays in launching the app. We didn’t have in-house skills to build the app and had a couple of bad experiences with 3rd party developers, however the guys at Mobiversal did a good job and managed to get it done. We hope you’ll enjoy the app!

The UI looks pretty rough on Kindle Fire. The three images at the top all get stretched horizontally.

Hi Peter,
i’m sorry, the app was not designed for tablets. there’s a huge variety of Android devices out there that work differently.
January 16, 2012 at 5:02 pm
I understand. Just thought you’d want to know.

How do you install it? (Mac OS, Samsung Galaxy SII)
January 20, 2012 at 1:30 pm
Hi Per,
You have to download the “PaymoAndroidBeta_0.2.apk” on your mobile.
Then, using the file manager from your phone, get to the location where the file is stored and open it. It will launch the installer.
That should be it!

Great! Thank you!

Will you have an app for the blackberry?
February 2, 2012 at 8:36 am
Sorry, no plans for a BB app.
February 9, 2012 at 1:44 pm

Thanks,

OK, I’m confused. The date on this blog post is January 5, 2012. I just received the notification of “an update” in my Paymo dashboard, today, March 5, 2012.
According to Android Market I installed the Paymo app on Dec. 1, 2011. I have v1.52. Also according to Android Market Paymo’s app page, the most recent version *is* 1.52.
realize the app could have updated since I installed it…but my app interface doesn’t look anything like these screen shots. My app interface looks the screen shots posted on the Market app page.
I’ll uninstall/reinstall if I absolutely have to, but I have to tell you, with YOUR app, or more specifically, YOUR extremely long license key that has to be entered by hand, reinstalling would be a PITA.
March 6, 2012 at 5:12 am
Wait…apparently there are TWO Paymo Android apps. Sorry, didn’t realize that.
March 6, 2012 at 5:21 am
Yahhhhhh, the official one doesn’t require the 5,000 character API key
March 6, 2012 at 8:37 am
There are two apps, the one you had was the unofficial app called Paymo counter. It was developed by someone from our user community.
March 15, 2012 at 1:40 pm
It won’t let me login with the same authentication as the web version, am I missing something?
March 15, 2012 at 1:42 pm
If you’re using 3rd party credentials such a Google they won’t work. You need to use your Paymo credentails, these can be set up under My Account.
March 15, 2012 at 6:24 pm
I’m having the same issue with authenication. “Invalid auth token / Login failed”. I’ve looked at the “My Account” page, but there is not a option for “Username”, only password. What should I use for my Username?
March 15, 2012 at 6:27 pm
I figured it out…. Username is Email address
Thanks
March 14, 2013 at 4:33 pm
When I try to log in using my Galaxy SII the Authenticating… dialog shows up and stays… it doesn’t do anything. Used my email and password that I use to log in on the website.
March 15, 2013 at 8:51 am
Hmmm, today it worked. Maybe one has to log out of the paymo webinterface once before you can download it with the app? Or maybet there is a different system involved that takes some time sync the data? IDK, it works now. Thanks!
